Truck Update
On February 2, 2010
Asst. Chief Neal Doyle went and met with Jere Lady of PA
Fire Apparatus to discuss the progress of our refurb
project. Below are pictures taken during the
visit.

Stats
The Station 4
Volunteers responded to 24 calls in the month. They were
in the following municipalities: Codorus Twp (1),
Heidelburg Twp (6), Jackson Twp (7), North Codorus Twp
(1), Spring Grove Borough (5), West Manchester Twp (3),
and West York Borough (1). The top five responders
were: Tim Bankert (17), Keith Kerchner (14), Neal Doyle
(12), Kayla Bankert (12), and Jeff Becker
(10).

January 31
At 11:49 the
Station 4 Volunteer's were dispatched for the Engine,
Truck, and Ambulance to respond into Codorus Twp to
assist Station 47 (Jefferson) with a chimney fire.
The Engine and Ambulance were returned prior to their
arrival. The Truck crew assisted in laddering the
roof and cleaning the chimney.

AT 17:15 the
Engine, Truck, and Rescue were dispatched to assist
Station 11 with an investigation in a residential
structure. No Station 4 services were needed and crews
returned available.

The Station 4
volunteers handled three weather related class between
05:54 and 07:30

At 23:56 the
Engine, Rescue, and Ambulance were dispatched in the
Borough to the first block of North Main Street for an
automobile accident with injuries. Crews performed
traffic control, debris removal, and assisted EMS.
Crews cleared the scene at 00:55

AT 13:21 the
Engine, Truck, and Rescue were dispatched to assist
Station 11 (Nashville) with an investigation in a
residential structure. Crews assisted with the
investigation and remained on scene until being
released.

At 19:26 Station 4
was requested by EMS to assist with traffic control with
incident on North Main Street. The crew of Engine
4-2 controlled traffic until all EMS units cleared.

oday at 1500 hours
Station 4 was alerted for and Engine and Rescue to
assist Station 1 with
a second alarm residential structure fire. Engine
4-2 was requested to fill in at Station 5 while the
Rescue was requested to the scene. The Rescue was
placed available while responding and the Engine filled
in at Station until released.___________--

15
Today started with
the Engine being dispatched to the 200 block of North
Main Street in the borough for a non-injury vehicle
accident. Engine 4-2 and Chief 4-2 (Doyle) arrived
on scene to find a single vehicle accident with no injuries.
Crew controlled fluids and the box was placed available.

Today started at
00:07 with the Engine, Truck, Rescue, and Ambulance
being dispatched on box 11-05 for smoke in a residential
structure. Crew staged with the apparatus until
being released by chief 11 (Flemmens). The second
call came at
08:07 with the Engine responding to a high risk fire
alarm in box 53-01. The box was placed available
by Captain 49A (Adams) prior to our arrival. The third
and final call of the day came at 12:05 with the Engine
being dispatched on box 11-02 for a high risk fire alarm
reported false. Upon responding we were placed
available by Engine 11-2.

Beginning today the
citizens of Spring Grove Borough will be receiving their
Advanced Life Support from Hanover Hospital Medic 46.

January 11
Our day began at
06:46 with the Rescue and Ambulance being dispatched
into Jackson Township to assist Station 11 (Nashville)
with a motor vehicle accident. The Rescue crew
assisted the ambulance with patient care before being
placed available. Then at 15:15 the Engine, Truck, and
Ambulance were dispatched to assist Station 53 (Porters)
with a residential fire alarm. The Engine arrived
first and found no fire. They then held the box to
Engines 4-2 and 53-1. The box was then placed
available.

January 8
At 01:30 Rescue 4
was dispatched to assist Station 11 with an unknown
injury accident. The Rescue was placed available prior
to responding. Then at 20:40 Engine 4-2 was
dispatched to 25 East third Avenue in the Borough for a
smoke detector sounding. After investigating,
crews found no fire and Chief Kerchner placed the box
available.

4
At 20:32 Engine 4-2
was dispatched to transfer to Station 5 they were working
on a residential fire in West York Borough. Engine 4-2
was placed available shortly after being dispatched.

January 3
The day started at
01:57 with the Rescue and Ambulance being dispatched on
the 53-03 box in Heidelberg Twp for an MVA. No Rescue
or EMS services were needed and all Station 4 apparatus
was released. Our second call of the day came at
09:20 with the Engine and Truck being dispatched on the
53-12 box in Heidelberg Twp for a chimney fire.
The Engine crew assisted with interior operations and
the Truck stood by on scene.

Call # 1 for
the year came to us at 05:35. Engine 4-2 was
dispatched to assist the West Manchester Fire Department
with a Commercial Fire Alarm. We were
placed in service shortly after dispatch. Call # 2
came at 14:07. The Truck was dispatched to assist
Station 53 with an Commercial Fire Alarm. We were
placed in service by Chief 53 (Bankert) while
responding.

Station 4 responded
on 252 emergency calls for the year. Then top ten

Station 4 member, has graciously donated the
Tommy Moose stuffed animals to us. These stuffed
animals will be used to give to children on emergency
